Do I need “Allow Full Access”? Will it upload what I type?
No — without it the keyboard types with its built-in dictionary. Turning it on lets the keyboard read the app’s dictionaries, settings and learning, and use online features like AI and translation. Turning it on does not make Hare upload what you type.
Can I type Traditional Chinese?
Yes. Choose Traditional, Traditional (Taiwan) or Traditional (Hong Kong) in Settings. Pinyin, correction and learning work as usual, and candidates and committed text come out in the Traditional form you picked. It’s free.
Which input methods are supported? Does it work on iPad?
QWERTY full pinyin, 9-key and Xiaohe Shuangpin, with mixed Chinese and English. iPhone and iPad each have their own keyboard design. If you already use Rime, you can import a compatible input scheme.
Is Hare Pro a subscription? Do I pay again on a new phone?
No subscription. Buy Hare Pro once and keep it on every iPhone and iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. On a new phone, tap “Restore Purchase” in the app.
Do AI scripts and Translate as I Type cost extra?
Hare provides no model and never handles your requests. You enter a key for the AI or translation service you choose, and that service bills by its own rules. On iOS 26 and later you can also use Apple’s built-in offline translation, with no key.
When does it launch, and is it available where I live?
Hare is coming soon to the App Store. The first release excludes mainland China and the EU member states; elsewhere, availability follows the App Store. Tap “Notify me at launch” to send us an email, and we’ll reply on launch day.
